Shopping in Henderson -- You'll Love the Variety!

If you think you have to drive over the river to Evansville in order to give your credit card a workout, think again! Henderson may be small, but it's home to a variety of really great stores.

Here are our 3 best tips for making the most out of your shopping trip:

1. Keep an eye out for names you recognize

On the east side of Henderson, you'll find a Walmart Supercenter, and on the west side of town, there's a Rural King. Head south, and you'll find a Kmart and a Goody's. Plus, there's a Big Lots near the center of town, so no matter what you need, these big retailers will have it!

2. Snag some great deals at outlet prices

In between the Walmart Supercenter and the Ohio River is the Merchants Outlet Mall. The mall is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but the deals are so great that you'll gladly adhere to their schedule!

Inside you'll find everything from mattresses, to glassware, to four-wheelers, to antiques. In fact, the antiques are so great that the mall was named the Best Antique Store in Henderson in 2015. But no matter what's on your shopping list, you'll fall in love with the prices. You can get an entire patio set for $250, a five-piece king bedroom set for less than $800, and once fall arrives, you'll be able to choose from more discounted Christmas decorations than you know what to do with!

Once you've shopped till you drop, you'll be happy that there are a number of fast-food joints and sit-down restaurants within a few blocks. After all, bargain hunting makes you hungry!

3. Look for treasures in the locally-owned shops

If it's been awhile since Fido got a new toy, head to Gabbi's Pet Boutique, where you'll find handmade clothes for furkids of all sizes, an endless array of leashes and toys, gourmet foods, and even doggie obedience classes.

Smack in the middle of Downtown, you'll find Third Street House Gift Shop, which has been locally-owned since 2005. Whether you need makeup, some new home décor, a bridal registry, or simply a cup of coffee with the owners, you can get it here.

A few footsteps from Third Street House Gift Shop, you'll find Victoria's Boutique. If you're headed to a fancy event, this is a great place to find a dress. They've also got tons of accessories -- including jewelry, scarves, and hats -- to complete your look.
