The North Side of Evansville – Offering a Newer and Quieter Slice of Life

The neighborhoods that sit north of SR 66 all the way up to suburbs Highland and Melody Hill make up Evansville’s North Side. Here’s why it’s a great idea to rent an apartment here:

Welcome to Evansville

- You’ll be close to the airport

Whether you travel for work or for fun, having an apartment on the North Side of Evansville means that you’ll only be a few short minutes from Evansville Regional Airport. That means it’ll be even easier for you to get to Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas. Plus, Delta, American, and United Airlines fly in and out of here, so your travel plans won’t have to suffer just because you don’t live in a huge city.

- You’ll have easy access to lots of shopping

North Park Shopping Center is home to lots of upscale specialty stores and restaurants. And, just a few blocks to the south is a Target for your “regular” errands. Or, if discount shopping is more your style, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a Big Lots on the north side of SR 66.

For more local shopping, head to Mayse Farm Market. Located just north of Mill Road, this 90-acre farm is home to fresh strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, and pumpkins. They also run a handmade bakery just in case you’d rather get your fruits and veggies in dessert form!

- You’ll have a little slice of nature right in the middle of the city

The locals love Moutoux Park because it’s never very crowded. Once you’re inside, you’ll be able to enjoy several soccer fields, playgrounds, walking trails, and a lake that offers some great fishing. The park is also a favorite for geocaching.

Want to spend your time enjoying the scenery that’s more rural? The far northwestern side of Evansville is full of quiet farmland – making it a popular area for some of the local cycling clubs.

- You’ll see much of the local development first hand

Over the past few years, much of the development in Evansville has been done along the city’s northern side. That means you’ll likely find newer apartments here than you will in other neighborhoods. However, if you’re looking for a great bargain, you may have a tougher time finding it on the North Side than you will in the older sections of town.

It’s not just housing that’s popping up here, though. The North Side of Evansville is home to lots of great restaurants that feature cuisine from all over the world.
